Yoga Prema - Retreat - Terms & Conditions

Yoga Prema – Retreat Terms & Conditions
By booking a place on any retreat organised by Yoga Prema, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read carefully before making your booking.
1. Medical Disclaimer
Participation in yoga, meditation, and Ayurvedic treatments carries certain inherent risks. You are strongly advised to consult your doctor before booking if you have any injuries, illnesses, or medical conditions. By booking, you confirm that you are fit to participate and accept full responsibility for your own health and wellbeing during the retreat.
Yoga Prema and its teachers are not responsible for any injuries, medical conditions, or health issues that may arise. Our offerings are not a substitute for medical care, diagnosis, or treatment.
2. Mental & Emotional Health
Yoga, meditation, breathwork, chanting, and related practices can sometimes bring up strong emotions or trigger memories of past experiences, including past trauma. By booking, you confirm that you are emotionally stable enough to participate and that you take responsibility for your own mental and emotional wellbeing during the retreat.
If you are currently receiving psychological or psychiatric support, or have a history of trauma or mental health conditions, you are advised to consult a qualified healthcare professional before attending.
Yoga Prema and its teachers are not responsible for any mental or emotional distress that may arise during or after the retreat.
3. Travel Insurance (Required)
Valid travel insurance is required for all participants. Your policy must cover:
  • Medical emergencies
  • Retreat cancellation
  • Travel disruption (including COVID-19 or other pandemics)
  • Activity-related risks
Proof of insurance may be requested. Yoga Prema cannot be held responsible for costs arising from participants’ failure to obtain adequate insurance.
4. Ayurvedic Treatments
Ayurvedic consultations and treatments may be included in the retreat programme. These are intended to support general wellbeing and do not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Please inform us in advance of any allergies, sensitivities, or medical conditions. Participation in treatments is voluntary and at your own risk.
5. Communication & Privacy
Participants may be invited to join a private WhatsApp group (or similar platform) for updates and sharing before and during the retreat. By booking, you consent to being added to this group. You may opt out at any time.
6. Our Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by you:
  • Deposits (up to 50% of the total retreat cost, depending on the retreat) are non-refundable.
  • Deposits may be transferred to another participant by arrangement with Yoga Prema.
  • In some cases, subject to availability, you may transfer your deposit to another Yoga Prema retreat within 12 months, although pricing may need to be adjusted.
  • If you cancel 90 days or more before the retreat start date and have paid in full, 50% of the total cost will be refunded.
  • If you cancel less than 90 days before the retreat start date, 100% of the total cost will be charged.
  • These terms do not affect your legal right to transfer your booking to another person in certain circumstances.
Cancellation by Yoga Prema:
  • In the unlikely event that Yoga Prema must cancel your retreat (for reasons within our control), you will receive a full refund of retreat payments made.
  • In the event of unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control (e.g. natural disaster, pandemic restrictions, lockdowns), Yoga Prema will refund retreat fees paid but is not responsible for flights, visas, travel, or incidental costs. Please ensure your insurance covers such events.
7. Your Responsibilities
  • You must book comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. This must include medical cover, belongings, activity cover, and COVID-related changes.
  • You are fully responsible for making your own travel arrangements, including:
    • Booking flights, transfers, and transport to and from the retreat venue.
    • Ensuring your passport is valid and has sufficient pages for entry and exit stamps.
    • Applying for and obtaining any necessary visas, permits, or travel authorisations, and allowing sufficient time for processing.
    • Meeting all entry, health, and vaccination requirements of the country being visited.
  • Vaccinations & Travel Health: Yoga Prema is not able to provide advice regarding vaccinations, travel medicine, or country-specific health requirements. It is your responsibility to consult an appropriate travel health professional (e.g. GP, travel clinic, or official government guidance) well in advance of your trip.
8. Exclusions of Liability
Yoga Prema cannot be held liable for:
  • Cancellations, delays, or changes caused by war, threat of war, terrorist action, closure of airports, civil strife, industrial action, natural disasters, technical transport issues, staff illness, or other events beyond our control.
  • Participants’ medical, psychiatric, or emotional conditions which may arise or become apparent during the retreat.
  • Loss of, or damage to, personal property of participants.
By booking, you understand the physical, mental, and emotional risks involved in yoga, meditation, and related activities. You take full responsibility for your own health and safety and release Yoga Prema, its teachers, and associated staff from liability for injury, illness, loss, or damage, except in cases of proven gross negligence.
9. Photo / Video Release – Use of Image
By attending a Yoga Prema retreat, you grant us the irrevocable right and unrestricted permission to use photos or video in which you may appear, taken during the retreat, for promotional or commercial purposes. You release Yoga Prema from any claims relating to such use, including claims for libel or invasion of privacy.
10. Complaints
We are confident you will not find cause for concern. However, if an issue arises, you must raise it directly with Yoga Prema during the retreat so it can be addressed. Retrospective complaints must be made in writing within 14 days of the retreat’s conclusion.
11. Agreement

By booking a retreat with Yoga Prema, you agree to be bound by and adhere to these terms and conditions.
